A visual artist and ceramist, Eric Beauplace found in creation an essential space of escape from the cartesian work environment tied to his university background in science. Alongside his scientific work, he thus began devoting himself to sculpture. From his initial training, the artist has retained two key pillars that nourish his work: a keen sense of observation and a taste for experimentation. His artistic journey first led him towards Op Art, a field focused on questions of visual perception and movement.

Far from marking a break, his evolution towards ceramic art is part of an extension of this initial research on movement, change and dynamics, applied to a physical and tactile material.

It was after training in glass techniques (fusing, slumping) and ceramic handbuilding that he measured the vast creative potential that clay offered.

In recent years, clay has become her preferred medium, allowing her to explore movement by manipulating shapes, space, and textures.

He quickly exploited his sculptural qualities and engaged in experimental approaches by combining them with other materials such as glass or textiles.

This constant search for movement and evolution brought his work to the forefront during art fairs and exhibitions both in France and abroad. Praised by the art community , his unique approach has earned him several awards and distinctions.

Eric Beauplace was born in France in 1962. He lives and works in the Paris region.
